Fats and oils

We use different types of fats and oils in the preparation of our Kinder recipes.

< >

For each product we balance the fats naturally present in our ingredients, like milk, cocoa and hazelnuts, and the ones that we add.

We mainly use vegetable fats, such as oils and cocoa butter, but also anhydrous milk fat
We do not use hydrogenated fats in any of our recipes.

We use different types of vegetable oils across our products:

Coconut oil

is used in Kinder Chocolate Ice Cream and in Kinder Bueno.

Palm oil

is used to give our products their smooth and creamy texture and to ensure that their structure and flavour stay constant over time.
The palm oil that we purchase originates mainly from Malaysia and Indonesia and is 100% RSPO certified, primarily through the Segregated supply chain model, under which certified palm oil is kept separated from conventional palm oil throughout the supply-chain, with a minor share covered by mass balance. Moreover, it is traceable to plantations, enabling us to monitor and address potential risks, including deforestation.

Sunflower oil

is used in the swirls and sauces of our Kinder Ice Creams.

Shea butter

obtained from shea tree nuts, a wild plant from West Africa, and is used to enhance the taste and consistency in products like Kinder Délice, Kinder Happy Hippo, or Kinder Joy.
