Fats and oil

We use different types of fats and oils in the preparation of our Kinder recipes.

< >

For each product, we balance the fats naturally present in our ingredients - such as milk, cocoa, and hazelnuts - with those we add.

We mainly use vegetable fats, including oils and cocoa butter, as well as anhydrous milkfat. We do not use hydrogenated fats in any of our recipes.

We use different types of vegetable oils across our treats.

Coconut oil

Kinder Bueno Frozen Desserts and Kinder Chocolate Ice Cream.

Palm oil

is used to give our treats their smooth and creamy texture, and to ensure that both texture and flavour remain consistent over time.

Our palm oil is sourced from certified plantations in Malaysia, Indonesia and South America, and is 100% RSPO-certified sustainable. This means it is kept separate from ordinary palm oil throughout the entire supply chain. Through this system, 98% of our palm oil can be traced back to the mills, ensuring it does not come from plantations linked to deforestation.

Sunflower oil

Kinder Bueno Frozen Desserts and Kinder Chocolate Ice Cream.

Shea butter

obtained from the nuts of the shea tree - a wild plant native to West Africa - is used to enhance the taste and consistency of products like Kinder Happy Hippo and and Kinder Joy.
