Our Packaging

Our Packaging

Why we need packaging

Packaging is important to help maintain the taste and quality of our products, and to protect them from external contaminants, such as bacteria or pests.
Moreover, it provides information on portion size and ingredients to help people make informed purchasing choices.

Working with multiple materials

We protect our products using a variety of packaging materials. We prioritise those materials that are easier to recycle according to recognized design-for recycling guidelines such as 4EG or CEFLEX. To evaluate the new packaging materials and formats that we introduce, we measure their environmental impact from the sourcing of raw materials to manufacturing, transportation, and end-of-life disposal or recycling, while making sure that our packaging is up to the standards we demand.

Our approach – the 5 R

When designing our packaging we use the “5R Strategy”, to optimize the use of materials and improve circularity, while ensuring our usual high standards of safety and quality.

Packaging progress

We have re-designed some of our packaging using single-material, removing non-recyclable material combinations, and sometimes replacing plastic foils with paper-based alternatives, thus creating opportunities to reduce the overall amount of plastic used.
