New header thickener

Thickener

Natural thickeners like the Peruvian carob, also known as tara gum, are used to improve the texture of foods thanks to their thickening and stabilising qualities.

Ingredient

Tara gum is obtained from the seeds of Caesalpinia spinosa, a leguminous plant native to the Peruvian and Bolivian Andes, whose mature pods are harvested and left to dry in the sun before they are made into flour.

Combined with other ingredients it improves their texture and keeps their physical-chemical characteristics more stable over time. It is therefore perfect for use in a high number of recipes such as puddings, or yogurt giving them a denser and more appetising appearance.

Kinder selection and quality control

Kinder uses tara gum in Kinder Maxi King to improve the texture of its delicious cream filling. We only buy the gum from suppliers that exclusively use Peruvian seeds and simple processing methods when carrying out their toasting and grinding.
